Hi, I'm Maureen!!
I am a New York based photographer, located in Staten Island. I have loved the art of photography ever since I was a young child. My love of photography primarily came from my father and aunt. My first camera was given to me as a Christmas gift at six years old. I would capture rolls and rolls of film (there was no digitals back then). I remember how exciting it was to bring my film rolls to be developed. I would count down the days to when I could pick up my prints, and often pay extra for expedited developing. When I picked them up, I would barely even leave the store and ripped into the envelope to see what I captured. Back then you couldn't see your image until it was developed and printed. The ANTICIPATION!!!
My Aunt Elaine was a huge shutterbug and always took photos of our family- any chance she could. She loved it, and my sister and I enjoyed and entertained her as her "models"! My appreciation for those photos is paramount these days, especially as some of our dearest family members are no longer with us. She frequently sends us old photos from when we were children with aunts and uncles and my parents and they are priceless. Their memories live on in their photographs. I always say 'long after we're gone our loved ones will appreciate our photos way more than we would ever imagine. My father also had a collection of photos of his ancestors. He reveled in learning about our lineage and the generations that came before us. He had a space in our home with walls dedicated to photos of his parents, aunts, and uncles childhood portraits, many of whom were gone before he was even born. It was through him I learned that our story and visual representation of ourselves will live on long after we do.
It was through my aunt and my father that I grew to love still art portraiture. My goal is to provide my clients with a fun experience and heirloom products that will last lifetimes. Yes, there is a good chance laughter will be had during your session with me. I offer a range of albums, prints, and wall art for your home. My photoshoots are not meant to die by digital. Which is why I offer packages that include heirloom albums, prints, and wall art to pass down to your children and family. Psst...just a little secret, not only will you love having an album and artwork, but your children will too.
Well, that's a little about me, I would love to learn about you. To inquire about a portrait session with me, please complete the information in my contact page. I can't wait to hear about your vision for your session and work with you soon.
XOXO,
Maureen
